For maternal and child health advocates, witnessing the declines in maternal and newborn mortality over the past 25 years—especially the accelerated reductions during the last decade—has been encouraging. However, the reality that these largely preventable deaths continue to occur primarily in low-resource settings  in various villages Tanzania.

Health & Safe Baby Delivery Foundation work to meet the Sustainable Development Goals and achieve equity in care, in partnership with other global health care we  ensure access to quality maternity services. Expanding access means improving care wherever women seek it, whether from a physician in an urban government hospital or from an independent midwife operating her own clinic in a rural village. It also necessitates addressing the structural and process-related aspects of quality, including the woman’s experience of care.

  • We support  training programs of pregnant women and the provision of kits when they give birth. We support establishment of healthcare centers in villages in collaboration with various partners locally and globally
  • To reduce the mortality rates of pregnant women and their young children, we support in renovating a health center to provide high-quality mother and infant health services.
  • We enable and have enabled the construction and equipping of a maternity ward in the rural municipality of Mara, Tarime. Supported by various organizations and individuals

We work in close collaboration with the Group’s subsidiaries in all the countries within our footprint and in partnership with local associations and NGOs. Pragmatism and effectiveness for the beneficiaries are what guide the choices of the projects to be supported.
